Keep your eyes open you never know what could happen! Nancy Drew : The mysterious mannequin

Nancy Drew: The mysterious mannequin (1997)
Kenne, Carolyn
Mystery
Disclaimers: None
Rating 9/10

Nancy Drew is at it again!  One day in the mail Nancy dad  receives a Turkish rug.  He does not know what it is for or whom it is from.  But, Nancy  soon's finds  out that the rug has a mystery in it! She soon's finds out that this rug is linked to a Turkish mannequin but what is so important about this mannequin that everybody wants to find it?

As the book goes on it shows that if you are welling to work hard to find something out that you are willing to work hard to find it you can always find out what the problem is. There are many times in the book when people try to scare away Nancy from solving the mystery but she never gives up she is always trying to solve the mystery.

The mysterious mannequin is a book that I always found me on the edge of my seat.  I never wanted to put it down.  But, it still has a very humorous plot that makes you crack a smile while you are reading it.  Kenne uses a third person omniscient narrator for this book which I really liked because, it felt as if you were actually walking through Turkey with Nancy Drew and her friends to solve this mystery.

The mysterious mannequin is defiantly a late elementary book to read.  Because, of the mystery that they try to solve it would defiantly make it hard for the child that is reading this book to put it down.  But it also a easy read to read as well if you are looking for a fast and entertaining book to read.

I feel like the mysterious mannequin is a awesome book to read.  I never found myself wanting to put the book down even when I had to because, I had to go somewhere.  I also recommend it to someone who is looking for a fast and entertaining book to read.  Cathrine Cavin said "I chose this book because I love mystery books and I really love Nancy Drew Books.A summary of the book is ....Farock sends a rug with a hidden message in it to Carson Drew.Nancy Drew decides to make it a case and find out what it says. The rug wanted Carson Drew to come to Istanbul, with Farock's manniquin. Nancy Drew finds this out and takes Her father,Ned(her boyfriend),Bess and George(cousins),Dave and Burt ( there boyfriends),and Aisha (Farocks lover)to Istanbul to find Farock.
YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE ENDING!!"  A customer on amazon said "The story starts when Mr. Drew recieves a rug from Istanbul. There is a secret message woven into it and tells him to find a mannequin of his because he loves her. Of course Nancy sets out to find it. It had such an awesome ending. I will let you find out what it is though."

watch your back anything could happen!:Nancy Drew The invisible intruder.

Nancy Drew: The invisible intruder (1997)
Keene,Carolyn
Mystery
Disclaimers: none
Rating:9/10

Nancy Drew is a curious young women, her father is a lawyer and tells her about weird and spooky things that have been going on close by.  In this book there is a "ghost" that has been scaring away guests at many hotels around town.  The word of the ghost gets around and it is starting to scare away customers and the hotel rooms are staring to run out of business.  After Nancy has learned about this her and her friends decide to go and solve this mystery!

As Nancy and her friends try to figure out this mystery, they also discover that everything that people say is not always true.  As the book goes on they are constantly finding out that they have been lied to about  many different things.

The invisible intruder is a very suspenseful book.  But, still giving it a humorous plot line. It feels as if you were there with them and the "ghost" was breathing on your neck Keene describes everything in the book so well!  Keene uses a third person omniscient narrator.  Which I really liked because, like I said before it felt like you were actually in the book! I also liked it because, it explained more to me how the characters were felling in the book.

The invisible intruder is a late elementary level book.  The book is a easy read ( for a Jr.High student or a High school student) and does not take very long to read.  I would highly suggest that if you are looking for a easy book to read I suggest that you read this book!

I think that The invisible intruder is a really good book to read.  I never found myself wanting to put this book down.  I always wanted to know what would happen next and who this invisible intruder was.  Even with the recommended reading age for this book.  A customer who bought this book on amazon said "In this book, there was a lot of action and suspense. It was exciting and interesting. It was the first Nancy Drew Book I read, and it made me want to read more. The Invisible Intruder was something you would have never guessed."  A kids review said "In this astounding series of Nancy Drew the Invisible Intruder is one book that will keep you on your tip-toes. In this story Nancy and her friends go on a ghost hunt to look into five different haunted houses. At first they encounter a supposely haunted canoe that propels itself through Lake Savenee. In the end Nancy captures the invisible intruder in the fantastic room of skulls in the last house. I really loved this book not once did I get bored."

You never know what could happen in the future: When you reach me

When you reach me(2009)
Stead, Rebecca
Fiction

Rating 8/10
Disclaimers: none

Miranda is a twelve year old girl living in New York City with her mom and her mom's boyfriend.  She is a very talkative and out going character in this book, she has many friends and is a very positive person and looks at things very positively in this book (even when something bad happens).  But, when she starts to get notes from a random stranger weird things start to happen.  Shoes start to go missing, their is a random man running down the streets, she suddenly gets fired from a job and worst of all she will I cant tell you that because, it would give away part of the book.  But, since Miranda is also a very curious person she decides to try to figure out who this person is and what they are trying to do and what letter and who to give it to  this person is talking about in all the notes that she keeps getting from this random stranger.

Miranda is a very positive person in the book When you reach me, she never complains or thinks as anything that happens in this book.  She has lots of things that she could be complaining and "sitting around and not do anything to fix it" but, she will always try too find out what she can do to fix the problem.  There is also another part in the book where one of her friends gets into trouble.  She does every thing that she can to try and help him out she even gets to the point where she decides to call her mom ( who works for a lawyers office and is also wants to become a lawyer some day) for help so he can get a couple of extra days to think of a way out of the situation.  From these examples I think that Stead is trying to show through these examples that we should always think about everything in a positive way either the good or the bad also, that no matter what we should always be a true and a good friend.

In the book When you reach me Stead is a very serious and positive person ( almost a little to positive that it drove me nuts).  But on the other hand it was a good style of writing because, it taught me to look at things more positive. It also gives a good perspective on what it was like to live in New York City in the 60's and be a middle class family.  Stead uses a first person narrator in the book When you reach me who says what she thinks of the situation and how her day was.  How the author uses the narrator in the book is mainly the common way the person just describes what is going on and who said what which I fell like is a very common type of narrator.

The attended audience I believe is middle age Jr.High age because, the things that Stead teaches is things that kids that age need to learn.  That they can carry on with later on in their life high school, college, etc.  Although that I suggest this book for middle age Jr.High kids I also believe that any age could read it because it think that it is never to late to learn the listens that Stead teaches in her book When you reach me.

I would recommend this book to people that are looking for a fast and easy read book.  It usually takes me about 3 weeks to read a book like this but, Stead end exciting parts so quick that you want to keep reading to find out next.  So I finished this book in less than a week which is a really fast time for me to read.  I also learned a lot from reading this book.  Tamora Pierce agreed with me by saying, "An absolutely gripping story...I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it!'  The school library journal agreed with me as well by saying, " An exciting, engaging mix of science field mystery, and adventure."

Be careful of how you treat others: Thirteen reasons why

Thirteen Reasons Why (2007)
Asher,Jay
Adult Fiction

Rating:9.5/10

Warnings: Inappropriate seen for young children, violence, talks about suicide.

Everyone goes through hard times but Hannah Baker has been going through a hard time and decides to commit suicide.  But before she dies she makes tapes of her life each tape is of someone that 'bulled" her or when she wanted/asked for help did not give her help there are 13 tapes so their are 13 people that are a reasons why she committed suicide.  In the book a boy named Clay is one of the reasons and he walks around town while he listens to the tapes.

In the book Hannah has many hard times because kids had spread gossip around the school about her.  Clay soon realizes what gossip can do to someone and how bad it can hurt someone he soon decides to make a change in his wife.

Thirteen reasons why is a dramatic book.  Because it talks about suicide so much it shows how you really don't know what someone is going through and that you should think and say nice things about other people because, you never know what is going on in their life.  Asher uses a narrator to show what hard times that this girl is going through.  I think that he wrote it in a neat way because, he uses Clay to describe what clay thinks but the narrator (Hannah) also describes how she fells about the situation.

The intended audience is defiantly for high school students and adults because, it is a bit gruesome for some high school ages but it teaches a good lesson of thinking of other peoples feelings and how bad gossip can hurt someone.

I had heard many good things about this book and it seemed really good.  I never got lost in the book the whole time that I read it I also understood what was going on the whole time that I read this book.  The only time that when I wanted to put it down is because, I needed to go and do something or I had to go to sleep.  But I still read it as much as I could.  Kirkus starred review said " A brilliant and mesmerizing debut from a gifted new author." Also Sherman Alexie said " A mystery, eulogy and ceremony."

The Crucible Cast List

Reverend Samuel Paris: James Caan

The reason why I chose James Cann for Reverend Paris is because in the movie elf he plays a dad that cares more about his work then he does his son.  Also he works very hard to support his family just like how Reverend Paris cares more about his work then he does his daughter. But works very hard to help support his family.

Tituba: Whoopi Goldberg

I chose Whoopi Goldberg for Tituba because she played as a slave in the color purple as a slave for a family.  Also she looks like Tituba in the old movie.

Abigal "Abby" Williams: Aileen Quinn

Why I chose Aileen Quinn is because in the movie Annie she plays a orphan.  Just like how Abby is a orphan living with someone else who is not her parents.  Also she looks young how Abby is in the movie.

Thomas Putnam: Leon

Why I chose Leon  is because in the t.v. show prison break he plays a greedy general that think what ever he knows is right.  Just like how Thomas Putnam was.

Goody Ann Putnam: Kate Gosselin

Even though I cant stand her I chose Kate Gosselin because like Goody Ann Putnam she is a mother of 8.   Even though non of her kids have died she has a lot of anger because, the media attacked her for no reason at all and she has a hard time dealing with it just how like Goody Ann Putnam has a lot of anger because 7 of her 8 children have died.

John Proctor: Steve Martin

I chose Steve martin because just like John Proctor in the movie cheaper by the dozen Steve Martin has everything to ask for.  Also he is about the same age distance as Alieen Quin ( who I casted as Abby) was the same age distance as John and Abby.

Goody Elizabeth Proctor: Bonnie Hunt

The reason why I chose Bonnie Hunt is because, she plays Steve Martins wife in Cheaper by the dozen, also she isn't afraid to speak her mind and she is also positive.

Mary Warren: Andrea Barber

I chose Andrea Barber for Mary Warren  because, in the t.v. show Full House she plays a girl that follows the crowd but also causes trouble a lot of the time too.

Goody Rebecca Nurse:Betty White

Betty White is who I decided to chose for Goody Rebecca Nurse is because, she is a mother and a grandmother and even though Betty White is known as a comedian I think that she can be serious if she wants to be.

Reverend John hale: the late Steve Irwin

I chose the late Steve Irwin because, John Hale was a witch craft expert what probably meant that he hunted for witches and Steve Irwin hunted for alligators and all sorts of aquatic animals.

Someday I’m going to … be a dental hygentist.

When I’m really down, what I want to do is … just listen to music and try to get my mind off it or go and hang out with friends.

I feel anxious … right before a test.

I like people who … nice.

All it takes to make me happy is … to make sure you don't make me mad.

What I really want to do is … go to Colorado.

I wish that … it was Christmas.

I don’t like when people are … fighting.

I just hate it that … when it snows it is freezing outside.

I just love it that ... thanksgiving is close.
